What I miss

This is a short impression which I wanted to share with you, now more than a month after our 1000km journey on a bike. I actually just returned from a drive into Delhi at 8 PM this evening and planned to take  my bike around town to see the new metro stations and roundabouts but also to test the new front push rod which I placed last week. My frustration at this very moment is immense because I did not even get to the fly-over less than 3 km from our home. I  stood for 40 minutes in traffic jams just walking my bike through the cars. The traffic has become so heavy and dense nowadays that with a motorbike you do not get anywhere let alone with a car. After having seen the moon like landscapes and the orange white mountains for 10 days, I decided to return home pushing the motorcycle through the traffic and crossing a bus on my lane, whose conductor decided that driving in the opposite direction is a solution to the traffic jams. I will park the bike for a while until my frustration is over…. which might probably take a long time…

    Hey Marc ..

    I just saw your recent video on Youtube and read your posts about the 1000 km trip and was mighty impressed with both.

    Im a lawyer in Delhi and also had an Enfield 350 when I was in college .. but then the reality of life took over and I had to abandon my priced possession :)

    Last month I finally got down to getting a Classic 500 and boy am I happy I did that .. and a few friends are planning a bike trip to Leh .. it would be immensely helpful if I could learn a few things from your trip .. some dos and don’ts maybe ..
